Once upon a time, in a Hinterhof in Kreuzberg… lived a company working hard to bring stylish travellers the quirkiest, coolest boutique hotels to curl up in… should they make it to bed at all. What better base than Berlin, where the incomparable history, international vibe and hip designs popping up all over the city are like a magnet to visitors and addictive to it’s inhabitants. Show IV opens on June 4, 2010 with a musical performance by the Canadian duo Trike. Tobias Sternberg continues his interactive piece Schadensorge in the garden, if you missed the life-sized mammoth in the tree then be prepared for more creatures. All the interior galleries transform. Screening Program IV is curated by the MMX staff and includes works by Jesper Just, Annette Otto, Eric Fleischauer and Nicolas Provost. Last summer the Venice Biennial premiered the work of Uruguayan artist Pablo Uribe and this summer MMX brings Atardecer to Germany.
Finally! It looks like within the next 24 hours the real summer is about to hit Berlin. So please take it easy, enjoy the sun and be patient when you have to wait for that Weizenbier.
We have about three nice months left – hopefully. So the worst spring/ summer since the 70s seems to finally have an end.
As I always say – in this Blog we write about why Berlin loves you and why it sometimes doesn`t well it didn`t seem to love us in the last 3 months – at least the Berlin weather.

A lecture, a magazine and a party about smell
What is a good smell? What is a bad smell? Can creating smells be considered an art?
Tomorrow night, world-renowned smell artist Sissel Tolaas will talk extensively about the concept of smell when she launches the latest edition of Mono.Kultur magazine.
The magazine has been printed with special ink that lets off smell when you rub it. The smells aren’t all necessarily nice – and that’s precisely the point. Tolaas wants us to question our perceptions of smell. Following Tolaas’s talk, guests will be able to sample some of her specially-created odors.
The talk takes place from 8pm at HBC in Berlin-Mitte. Entry is 5eu, which includes a copy of the magazine. Several DJs will play before and after, and guests are invited to stay for a party to celebrate the magazine launch.
